1. Sa Pa's Unique Cultural Convergence Space
Sa Pa, with its four-season natural beauty and the cultural diversity of its ethnic minorities, is a wonderful tourist destination. However, the complex mountainous terrain and the distance between villages can make it difficult for tourists to fully explore the unique cultural features here. That is why Ban May at Sun World Fansipan Legend was created, connecting the cultural beauty of Northwest Vietnam in a centralized space.
This is the only place in Sa Pa where you can experience the life of the highland ethnic groups (Sa Pa Hmong, Dien Bien Hmong, Xa Pho, Tay, Giay, Red Dao, Thai, Ha Nhi) in one day, at one location.
Here, the traditional colors of the ethnic groups are preserved as authentically as possible. The ancient houses of Ban May were painstakingly brought from the villages in Sa Pa and restored by local artisans. The living space is always warm with the fire, with daily life and customs that have not changed for hundreds of years. Tourists can explore the process of making brocade, weaving, making incense, printing patterns with beeswax, bamboo and rattan weaving... from highland artisans. Everything in Ban May is created so that visitors can have the most Sa Pa, most Northwest Vietnam experience.
2. Immerse Yourself in the Ban May Golden Harvest Festival
From August 17th, the ethnic people in Ban May will organize the "Ban May Golden Harvest Festival" to celebrate the rice harvest. Every weekend, tourists can experience a completely new traditional festival.
Festivals such as the Kho Gia Gia of the Black Ha Nhi people, the Then Kin Pang of the White Thai people, and the Ban May New Rice Festival not only bring joy to the village but also help visitors understand more about the culture and customs of the highland people.
Welcoming this festival season, Ban May puts on a vibrant yellow coat of a bountiful harvest in the yellow color of rice, corn, straw... Here, they pound sticky rice cakes, make cốm (young glutinous rice), there, people blow five-colored sticky rice. Tourists join the villagers in the rhythm of highland art performances, or participate in Northwest folk games such as stick pushing, one-string bridge, and swing in a bustling atmosphere. With the cool weather of Sa Pa autumn, coming to the Ban May festival, just sitting in the house of the Dao or Thai people, enjoying a hot cup of tea, eating chestnut cakes or sipping some grilled corn and potatoes is enough to see how peaceful, joyful, and relaxed highland life is.
3. Enjoy a "Full Table" of Northwest Vietnam
Your trip will not be complete without experiencing dinner at Ban May. The specialties of the ethnic groups are best enjoyed in the bamboo grove, stilt houses, and stone walls characteristic of the village. The most attractive thing is sitting by the flickering campfire, with the joyful laughter of friends and family.
Until December 31, 2024, visitors can experience dinner at Ban May at a very reasonable cost, from only 250,000 VND for children and 300,000 VND for adults. This price is very reasonable for a special dining experience, enjoying delicious specialties made from ingredients characteristic of Northwest Vietnam and prepared by local people.
The menu at Ban May is extremely rich and attractive, from fragrant grilled dishes to flavorful soups and hot pots. Adults will love thắng cố (horse meat stew), stir-fried buffalo meat with mountain bamboo shoots, sweet and crunchy village chicken hot pot, or enjoy chuối tai heo salad with a glass of sweet and strong wine. Meanwhile, children will enjoy crispy fried village pork and sticky rice with sesame salt - simple but still very delicious dishes.
4. Extend Endless Experiences at Fansipan
Furthermore, just a few minutes' walk from Ban May, visitors will reach the Fansipan cable car station, the starting point for exploring the roof of Indochina. The cable car line takes visitors through the overlapping mountains and clouds, rice terraces shimmering like a "sea of gold" to the horizon, the clear Muong Hoa stream, hundreds-year-old fir trees...
The cable car cabin glides over a picturesque landscape, revealing the rolling white clouds covering Fansipan peak. Autumn is the ideal season for cloud hunting; the cool weather is also very pleasing to visitors when visiting the vibrant orange and red don thoc flower carpets against the deep blue sky, visiting the sacred spiritual cultural complex, and participating in the solemn flag-raising ceremony on Fansipan peak.
Immersed in the yellow color of the rice harvest, Ban May attracts visitors with its delicious and attractive cuisine, festivals rich in the culture of local ethnic groups, and romantic autumn music shows. Every corner of the village contains cultural stories, simple yet profound beauty of the highland people.
