We call it ‘ a new era’, an era of innovation, integration and sublimation.
The DIFF season the longest, the most spectacular in history
DIFF 2025 will take place from May 31/05 to July 12/07/2025, with the theme “ Da Nang – The New Rising Era ”. The year 2025 is the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Da Nang city, therefore, DIFF 2025 carries the message of generational transition, affirming the city's aspirations and determination in a new phase, with a vision of prosperous development and efforts to mark the position of Da Nang on the international tourism map.
Unlike all previous DIFF seasons, DIFF 2025 will be the longest, largest fireworks season in the history of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival, with 6 fireworks nights and the participation of 10 teams from Vietnam, Finland, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Poland, South Korea, Italy, Canada, China.
The opening night of DIFF 2025 is expected to take place on May 31, with a match between the two teams Vietnam 1 and Finland themed Essence of Culture. This is also the first year with two representative teams from Vietnam participating in DIFF.
The subsequent fireworks nights are held every Saturday evening in the following weeks, taking a week off before the final night, with the themes and participating teams in order being: Night 2 (June 7): Creative Arts – Vietnam 2 – Poland; Night 3 (June 14) Connecting Journey - Canada - China; Night 4 (June 21)- Sustainable Development – Portugal - England; Night 5 (June 28)- Leading Technology - South Korea - Italy; Night 6 (July 12)- Welcoming the New Era - Finale.
The "massive" art stage DIFF 2025 elevates it into a grand riverside entertainment festival on the Han River
“ More than just a fireworks festival, DIFF 2025 is gradually asserting its position as a leading summer entertainment mega-festival in the region. Each competition night is not only a brilliant fireworks display but also a vibrant live concert, gathering top artists to create nights filled with music, light and emotion.
“ We are not just organizing a fireworks competition. The goal is to create a true festival atmosphere, where visitors immerse themselves in art and live fully in emotion. That is the biggest difference of DIFF compared to similar events in the region,” said Mr. Huynh Nam Thang.
With the desire to take audiences on a peak experience journey, the DIFF 2025 stage is designed with a scale twice as large as last year, becoming one of the most magnificent stages in the festival's 15 year history.
The stage area reaches up to 1,605.8m ², an increase of 60% compared to DIFF 2024. An intelligent mechanical system with 5 lifting domes, where the central dome has a width of up to 21m, along with 2 wing domes 18.5m wide. This design not only increases flexibility in performance but also opens up many unique shaping possibilities, elevating the visual experience for the audience. The surround sound system has also been comprehensively upgraded, ensuring perfect performance quality for both the live concert and the fireworks competition.
Not only impressing with its scale and technology, the DIFF 2025 stage is also deeply imbued with cultural identity, inspired by the land of Da Nang itself. “The organizing committee chose the image of Ngu Hanh Son as the main concept. The center of the stage is the image of a shining gem amidst the ocean, symbolizing Da Nang's aspiration to shine. The mountain and wave lines represent harmony and unity, as well as the message of a 'New Era' that DIFF 2025 wishes to convey," Mr. Thang added.
With elaborate investment in scale, technology and art, the DIFF 2025 stage is not just a “ stage ” for fireworks, but truly becomes the heart of the festival, a convergence of light, music and emotion, an unmissable rendezvous for a vibrant summer by the Han River.
The first fireworks festival applies AR and Sky AR technology
The technological breakthrough of DIFF 2025 is also the application of AR technology to each ticket. Each competition night has its own unique theme, and correspondingly, each ticket will open up an independent three-dimensional virtual reality world with different styles and content.
With a total of six competition nights, audiences will have the opportunity to step into six completely different virtual spaces, where the cultural symbols, architecture, and characteristic nature of Da Nang are vividly recreated using advanced graphics technology. AR content is developed specifically for each theme, integrated into the Sun Paradise Land, allowing audiences to easily access and experience it right on their smartphones.
Not only contained within the ticket, AR technology at DIFF 2025 is also extended to outdoor spaces, with the Sky AR – virtual reality over the Han River sky. With a coverage scale of up to 600.000m ², nearly 10 million pixels, this is the largest coverage outdoor AR system ever deployed at a cultural – tourism event in Vietnam. Each graphic effect is “ woven ” uniquely, synchronized with the theme of each competition night, bringing artistic and personalized visual experiences.
“Sky AR allows viewers to interact directly with the sky via phone and the Sun Paradise Land app . Da Nang's iconic symbols like the Golden Bridge, Ngu Hanh Son,… appear vividly, blending with real light, creating a feeling of watching a “ second layer of fireworks ” in the sky. This is the new emotional layer that DIFF integrates into each competition night,” Mr. Thang emphasized.
To spread this novel technological experience, the DIFF 2025 Organizing Committee is implementing a free Sky AR experience program for the public, from May 29 to July 12, every evening from 6 PM to 12 AM, at the Han River riverside space, the area from the DIFF stage to the Dragon Bridge.
Notably, at 8:25 PM on May 29, May 30, May 31, June 7, June 14, June 21, June 28, and July 12, users who experience Sky AR via the Sun Paradise Land app and enter their Full Name – Phone Number – Email information, will have a chance to receive random gifts. A total of 150 free DIFF tickets along with many secret gifts will be awarded to lucky individuals.
An unprecedented series of attractive ticket offers
DIFF 2025 also focuses on optimizing the user experience. From mid-May, a series of fireworks ticket promotions have been launched on the Sun Paradise Land app, the official ticket distribution channel of the festival. Notably, there is a program to give away 500 tickets for 0 VND, taking place at 3 PM every Friday from May 9 to June 6, under the "buy 3 get 1 free" format. In addition, qualifying tickets are also discounted by up to 30% under the "Early Bird" program, with ticket prices starting from VND 700,000.
Mr. Thang shared that, it is not difficult for tourists to come to DIFF and Da Nang. But for them to stay, return and recommend to others, that is the long-term challenge.
