"Full-service" flight route offers significant connectivity advantages to South Korea

This is the next international route in the journey of directly connecting Phu Quoc with major economic and tourism centers in Asia, as per the airline's initial objective. The Phu Quoc - Seoul route is launched after SPA was granted the International Air Transport Business Permission (Foreign) by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of South Korea (MOLIT) on March 9, 2026, allowing the airline to operate direct flights connecting Vietnam and South Korea. Based on that, the airline officially opens ticket sales from March 11, 2026, and the first flight takes off on April 17, 2026.

Not only creating advantages in direct connectivity, SPA also positions a differentiated experience. The airline operates a full-service model on all flight routes, including meals, checked baggage according to standards, and Business Class cabin with private space, comfortable seats, and priority service. This is a suitable choice for the high-end resort tourist segment as well as business travelers between the two markets.

The flight route to Seoul will be optimally designed by the airline for travel needs, especially with night flight schedules helping passengers save travel time and maximize vacation time. Tourists can depart in the evening and arrive the next morning, ready to start their exploration journey without losing an extra travel day.

To ensure operational efficiency and quickly access the South Korean market, Sun PhuQuoc Airways has chosen Pacific Air Agency (PAA) as General Sales Agent (General Sales Agent – GSA). With over 35 years of experience in market development and aviation service distribution in Northeast Asia, PAA not only possesses strong commercial capabilities but also deeply understands regional customer behavior, creating a foundation for Sun PhuQuoc Airways to gradually build an image as a new, modern, and distinctive 5-star airline.

Air route creates momentum to promote sustainable two-way tourism

Among Vietnam's top 10 source markets in 2025, South Korea ranks second with approximately 4.3 million visitors. Among them, Phu Quoc is a popular island destination preferred by South Korean tourists. Phu Quoc International Airport recorded that in 2025, Pearl Island welcomed 2,991 flights from South Korea, serving 555,864 passengers, an increase of nearly 12% compared to 2024. Recently, Agoda announced a list of Phu Quoc among the top 10 foreign destinations favored by South Koreans in 2025.

Phu Quoc's appeal to South Korean tourists - a group that loves beach destinations - comes from the convergence of many clear advantages. From Seoul, it only takes a few hours of direct flight for tourists to reach a destination once rated by Condé Nast Traveler (USA) as surpassing the Maldives. Besides the most beautiful beaches on the planet like Kem Beach, Sao Beach, Phu Quoc also boasts a comprehensive tourism ecosystem invested and developed by Sun Group, especially in the South of the island. This is also the most outstanding difference for passengers flying with Sun PhuQuoc Airways. SPA seamlessly connects with a 5-star resort system; the world's longest 3-rope cable car to the Sun World Hon Thom entertainment complex; record-breaking shows, night markets, and iconic tourist attractions like the Kiss Bridge. Phu Quoc is currently the only island in the world that has fireworks twice every night - 365 days a year with two shows: Kiss of the Sea and Symphony of the Sea.

Besides beach resorts, Phu Quoc also appeals to South Korean tourists thanks to the golf tourism experience amidst the scenery of jungle, blue sea, and white sand at Eschuri Vung Bau Golf. South Korean TV channel SBS Golf Channel and Hankyung magazine have introduced Eschuri Vung Bau Golf as a new favorite golf destination for South Korean tourists seeking both a top-tier competition experience and luxurious relaxation and resort stays in Phu Quoc.

Not only that, Pearl Island is also the only place in Vietnam with a preferential visa policy, offering visa exemption for all tourists worldwide for up to 30 days, simplifying entry procedures and creating a competitive advantage over many other resort destinations in the region.

In that picture, the direct Phu Quoc – Seoul flight by SPA not only shortens travel time and reduces reliance on transit points but also creates momentum to promote sustainable two-way tourism.

As the first airline in Vietnam named after an island, Sun PhuQuoc Airways is invested and developed by Sun Group following a "hub-and-spoke" network model, with Phu Quoc as the center, providing a seamless travel experience connected to Sun Group's world-class resort and entertainment ecosystem on the pearl island. Despite being a "newcomer", the airline has quickly acquired a fleet of 10 modern aircraft (as of the end of February 2026), including 5 brand-new A321NX (A321neo ACF) aircraft, and established strict operational standards. Proof of this is the airline's consistent ranking among the industry leaders in On-Time Performance (OTP) since its maiden flight, while completing core safety and maintenance certifications from the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam. Alongside expanding its international network, SPA is making strong strides in its fleet development journey, especially in wide-body aircraft. On February 18, 2026, in Washington D.C. (USA), the airline signed a contract worth 22.5 billion USD to purchase 40 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner wide-body aircraft. This is the largest Boeing wide-body aircraft order in Vietnamese aviation history to date.
